Pastor Isaac Oyedepo could not be righter when saying in one of his exhortations that “What the virus is doing is what the church should be doing” find out why in continuing this read.
- Contagious Love For God
Love is the responsibility of the people in the church as it is the fundamental law of Christianity. In this period, the right question to ask oneself is: “what can I do for the benefit of my society?” One may say I should better stay and home as instructed by the government or when going out, wear my mask and do as much efforts as I can to respect the physical distancing measures.
Loving God could also imply helping your neighbour according to the level God’s blessings in your life. Remember the word in Luke 10:27 reads: “Thou shalt LOVE THE LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind, and thy NEIGHBOUR as thyself”. Therefore, make it a duty!
- Contagious Light
The entire world is facing a current state of darkness that only the “the light of the world, a city that is set on an hill” as stated in Matthew 5:14 can dissipate. We are assigned to shine to our world as prophet Isiah foresaw in Isaiah 60:2-3 “1For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people but the lord shall arise upon THEE, and THE GLORY OF THE LORD shall be seen upon THEE. 2And THE GENTILES SHALL COME TO THY LIGHT, and kings to the brightness of thy rising”. This is a level of contagion we must really endeavour to attain through the glory of God.
- Contagious Faith
It is definitely time to put faith at work because this powerful force makes waiting quite easier. The word declares in Romans 15:13 “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in BELIEVING, that ye may abound in HOPE, through the power of the Holy Ghost”. We need to remain joyful while WAITING. And the wait of faith can be done efficiently through the things we choose to read or hear. So, select wisely!
- Contagious Hope
As believers we ought to share the good news – gospel – and not the bad news. Therefore, lets endeavour not to spread negativity but engage in positive messages sharing. COVID-19 is not even that deadlier than what wants to be shown to us through media. There have been many more fatal diseases which did not just at the time benefit such mediatic coverage (go and do research). Let’s not be the ones instilling panic in others.
- Contagious Wisdom
This implies seeking strategic ways to make impact in the community or in the world at large. Go to God to inspire you a wisdom that will make you a sign to your world.
- Contagious Boldness
Effort not to stay around timid people because it is most at times contagious. Decide to be bold as Peter and John in Acts 4:13 because it can be perceived and however make people around marvel at the God you serve. Don’t you want that?
- Contagious Joy
There is a certain joy as stated in Jhon 16:22 that comes upon a man and no one can withhold it from him. Ever stayed beside somebody who busted into laughter and suddenly you without having any intention of laughing joined them too? That is how contagious joy ought to be because “a merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” Proverbs 17:22. Make it your duty to remain always joyful!
There is something about sets of behaviours that makes the person carrying them being prominent for a transfer. This transfer is therefore what makes one contagious. After reading all of that, would you tell us in which area you’re contagious in the comments? We however pray God to make you an all-round contamination in these areas to your surroundings.
